Waffles and Willpower

One of the things I enjoyed the most during my last year’s visit to Austin were the waffles in the hotel breakfast buffet. Fresh hot waffles. Thick whipped cream. Melted chocolate.

I knew that they were all sugar. I knew they were not good for me. But I ate them anyway. Most of the days, more than one.

I simply did not have the willpower to say “no”.

Last night I came back to Austin. This morning I had a breakfast in the hotel.

This time, I ate no waffles.

My willpower might be the same.

The hotel did not serve any.
