Did your parents tell you when you were a kid?
My mom tried once. I was eight. My younger sister’s friend had a brother my age.
“Why don’t you play with little Oldrich, Lukas?” she said.
I knew Oldrich from the English class. I hated him. Not sure why now, but that’s not the point. I made it clear to my mum not to do this again.
Today? Funny thing – many more are telling us who to be friends with. Whom to send a chat message. Whom to congratulate on their new job. Whose holiday photos to check out.
Do you like it?
If you’d like to take your life (and who you’re friends with) back into your hands, here’s what you can do.
Take a moment. Think of people with whom you felt great in the past two, five or ten years. Think of people you miss. Write their names down.
You can take it from there.
